Shotokan Karate of America - Austin Dojo

Twice a week, a small group of karateka gathers off Rundberg Lane for traditional Shotokan practice — this is the Austin dojo of Shotokan Karate of America, the nationwide nonprofit organization devoted to the art, led locally by Gary Stafford. Rather than a commercial storefront, the club keeps things focused: Friday evening and Sunday afternoon training built on basics, kata, and partner work. The dojo recently moved students into its Gus Garcia location, and its perfect 5.0 Google rating reflects a dedicated membership. It is an appealing entry point for adults who want serious karate without contract-gym pressure. Practices are held at 1201 E Rundberg Ln in Austin; reach the dojo at 512-318-2752 or via austin.ska.org.
