The Subroom

Grappling without the gi is the whole point at The Subroom, Magnolia’s dedicated no-gi jiu-jitsu studio on West Lane. Head coach Darryl — ‘Coach D.C.’ — is a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who leads adults, teens, and kids through drilling, situational work, and live rounds that emphasize technique, control, and timing over strength and clothing grips. Classes fill weekday evenings from 5 to 8 plus a four-hour Saturday window, and the studio’s family-friendly, recovery-focused setting has earned a 5.0 rating across its early Google reviews.
