Matagorda MMA

Inclusivity is written directly into the listing: Matagorda MMA is women-owned and explicitly LGBTQ-friendly and transgender-safe — a rarity in rural Gulf Coast athletics. Under Professor Gabriel Nixon, the Bay City academy has developed a teaching method designed to work for absolute beginners as much as experienced competitors, across Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, MMA, and taekwondo. The approach earns a perfect 5.0 rating across 51 Google reviews, with a free trial, family discounts, and a competition team for students who want to test themselves. Classes run weekday evenings on 7th Street, capped by late sessions that accommodate work schedules.
