Lone Star Black Belt Academy

Traditional belts, anything-but-traditional teaching: that’s the stated formula at Lone Star Black Belt Academy, a Watauga school established in 2011 that describes its mission as creating leaders, one black belt at a time. The Denton Highway curriculum spans karate, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, kickboxing, taekwondo, and weapons training, with programs adjusted to meet students where they are rather than forcing one rigid mold. Classes run weekday afternoons from 3 to 8:45 PM, aligned with after-school schedules for kids and teens alongside adult evening training. The academy’s 4.9-star rating across 122 Google reviews reflects strong family loyalty across the Mid-Cities.
