Japan Martial Arts Shuko-kai International

Soke Kunio Miyake heads Japan Martial Arts Shuko-kai International from its Mission, Texas headquarters, teaching Shito-ryu karate and aiki jujitsu under the Miyake Shuko-kai banner, with branch dojos as far as Fountain Valley, California. The organization pursues what it calls realistic traditional Japanese (Nippon) kobudo, including iai with kenjutsu swordwork alongside jujitsu — a rare specialization deep in the Rio Grande Valley. Directory listings praise knowledgeable, personally involved instructors, international black belt recognition, and students who have claimed national and state titles, and the school carries a perfect 5.0 rating across 13 Google reviews. Programming reportedly spans kids through adults across a long list of disciplines, online and in person. Connect from anywhere in the Valley at 956-342-4671 or miyake-shukokai.com.
