Carlos Machado Jiu-Jitsu: The Colony

Machado lineage anchors this academy: instruction traces to Carlos Machado of the legendary Machado brothers, whose RCJ association sets the grading standard here rather than any franchised fitness curriculum. The Colony location earns a flawless 5.0 across 81 Google reviews. Programming covers Brazilian jiu-jitsu for every level – including students with zero experience – plus a dedicated after-school program and wrestling coaching for youth and collegiate athletes, a combination few DFW suburbs can match. Doors open at 7:30AM on weekdays with classes into the evening, and Saturdays run 10:30AM to 12:30PM. Whether the goal is self-defense, competition, or a child’s first experience grappling, everyone starts on the same mat. Schedule an intro at rcjmjjthecolony.com or call 214-494-6111.
