Shaolin Temple Cultural Center

At age six, Master Shi Yan Chan entered China’s Shaolin Temple to begin Kung Fu training; today, as a 34th-generation Shaolin disciple, he heads the Shaolin Temple Cultural Center in Houston. The school operates from Corporate Drive in the heart of Houston’s Chinatown, one block north of Bellaire Boulevard, teaching authentic Shaolin Kung Fu alongside cultural programming for the community. Its signature summer program even travels to China, with training at the Shaolin Temple itself and at Hangzhou Normal University. The academy’s identity is as much cultural preservation as self-defense.
