ARMA Bellaire
Longswords come out on Wednesday nights at ARMA Bellaire, the Houston chapter of the Association for Renaissance Martial Arts, which reconstructs historical European swordsmanship from surviving fight manuals — a tradition its members call one of the best documented on the planet. Sessions run 7 to 10PM and pair drilling in longsword technique with scholarship, as members study and interpret treatises left by Renaissance fencing masters. A study-group format makes entry approachable for curious beginners; no modern fencing background is expected. The chapter also plugs into ARMA’s wider network of researchers and events. It gathers at 4233 Bellaire Boulevard — message facebook.com/ArmaHouston or call 281-381-1279 before a first visit.
