Bowman Academy of Martial Arts

Sticks come first at Bowman Academy of Martial Arts, a Lufkin school whose curriculum is built on Filipino Martial Arts from the Inosanto-Lacoste lineage. Students begin with stick work before layering in knife and sword training, and, breaking with tradition, the empty-hand panantukan side is introduced early rather than reserved for advanced ranks. The academy brands its approach ‘tradition with modern relevance,’ folding modern-threat scenarios into classical drills. Classes meet Wednesday evenings starting in the late afternoon, and your first session is free. Find them at 1026 S John Redditt Dr, Studio B, or reach 936-232-7486 and bowmanacademyofmartialarts.com to ask about joining.
