Ganshin Dojo Shotokan Karate Do

Hanshi Luis Ganhao directs this Katy dojo, which doubles as the international headquarters of Shogen Kai, an organization teaching Shotokan karate-dō in the classical tradition. Opened in 2021, Ganshin Dojo runs on three mottos: mastery through practice, power with purpose, excellence in character. Weeknight evening classes run 5 to 8:30 with a Saturday-morning session, families receive discounts, and parking is free. The dojo carries a 4.4 rating across 14 Google reviews — and traditional Shotokan dojos of this kind are increasingly rare in suburban Houston, which makes Ganshin a serious classical option close to home for west Houston students.
