Opened in March 2025 by Professor Amanda Sakaya and Coach Daniel Stelzreide, Gracie Barra Bryan represents a Brazos Valley success story: the couple founded Gracie Barra College Station in 2021, then relocated to Bryan and nearly doubled the academy’s size to keep up with demand. Sakaya began training in Brazil at age seven and brings nearly 20 years of experience; the schedule runs about 51 classes per week across gi and no-gi jiu-jitsu, kickboxing for ages seven through adult, women-only BJJ, teens, and competition training.
