Hunter Shotokan Kempo Karate School

Shihan Johnny Hunter leads with genuine authority at Hunter Shotokan Kempo Karate School: he serves as president of the USA Traditional Karate International Confederation and teaches traditional Shotokan karate alongside Kuro Tora Kempo, a self-defense-oriented system, with weapons training reserved for advanced levels. The school operates from Lyons Avenue in Houston’s East End, running 6-to-8 PM classes Monday through Thursday plus a Saturday midday session, an accessible, no-frills schedule for a neighborhood dojo whose Facebook page serves as the main information hub. Kids’ classes get particular emphasis. Google shows a perfect 5.0 rating from four early reviews. Contact the school at 4218 Lyons Avenue in Houston via facebook.com/huntershotokankempo or 346-641-9552.
