Huntsville School of Karate
Three decades of Shotokan tradition anchor the Huntsville School of Karate, serving Huntsville, Walker County, and surrounding residents since 1990 under founder Shihan Scott Messina, a seventh-degree black belt. Leadership is homegrown: current head instructor Nathan Winkelmann started there as an eight-year-old student in the school’s founding year and now holds a fifth-degree master rank himself. Classes split cleanly by age, with Tiny Tigers for 4-9, a Koi-hi group for 9-12, and adults 13 and up meeting on weekday late afternoons and evenings. Families respond with a perfect 5.0 rating across 30 Google reviews. Observe a class or ask about enrollment in Huntsville by calling 936-291-9611.
