MAINTENANT

Part gallery, part boxing club, entirely Marfa: MAINTENANT is an art and fighting laboratory set on 25 acres of High Chihuahuan Desert two miles east of town, where one of two exhibition spaces doubles as an active boxing gym. The name honors Arthur Cravan, the avant-garde poet and boxer who published a polemical magazine called Maintenant (“now”) in Paris from 1911 to 1915 — a fitting patron for a place where creative work and fight training share the same desert light. Founded in 2020, the venue also hosts private events and showcases work made in or for Marfa. Gallery hours run Thursday through Saturday afternoons and Sunday midday.
