North Texas Karate Academy

Karate roots run deep here: North Texas Karate Academy’s Bridgeport location on Highway 101 was already training students by 1987, the year a young Stephen Starnes — now a grandmaster instructor — began his own martial arts journey at the school. Classes meet Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings, with Wednesday and Friday dark, a rhythm that fits school-night schedules across Wise County. Instruction emphasizes discipline, respect, and character alongside technique, in keeping with the Starnes family’s broader North Texas Karate tradition. The school earns a perfect 5.0 across 23 Google reviews. Bridgeport families can call 940-255-2038 or visit ntkarateacademy.com for current class details.
