Plano Kendo Dojo

Kendo — Japanese fencing with bamboo shinai and protective bogu armor — is a rare find in North Texas, and Plano Kendo Dojo keeps the art alive at the Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center on West Parker Road. The dojo runs separate basic and advanced classes for both youth and adults, so newcomers learn footwork and strikes before donning armor while experienced kendoka sharpen their practice.
