SaiunKan

Aikido, iaido, and jodo — Japanese blending arts, sword drawing, and staff work — are taught together at SaiunKan, a rarity in the San Antonio area. The Universal City school trains Monday and Thursday evenings plus Saturday mornings at Victory Dojo, and its guiding motto is friendship through practice: cooperative training partners rather than opponents. Instruction covers traditional Japanese arts with family discounts for multiple members, and the dojo holds a perfect 5.0 Google rating. Where most Texas strip-mall schools chase MMA trends, SaiunKan preserves classical budo. To observe a class or ask about registration, call 210-396-6625 or visit saiunkan.org.
