Sanami Defense Academy

“You have the right; get the ability” is the working motto at Sanami Defense Academy, Duff Culp’s Austin school operating since 2009, previously known as Bujinkan Sanami Dojo. The academy layers unusual offerings under one roof: Sanami combat-taijutsu classes, a Shinobi Kids program, Texas License to Carry handgun certification, and broader firearms instruction. Culp, a lifelong martial artist and defensive tactics instructor, built the curriculum for comprehensive skill advancement rather than sport or ceremony. The West William Cannon location serves South Austin students who want practical self-protection spanning empty hands and firearms.
