Texas Association of Shotokan Karate

Shotokan purists in Plano have essentially one option — the Texas Association of Shotokan Karate (T.A.S.K.) describes itself as the area’s only traditional Shotokan school, and it backs the claim with dojo standards tied to the Japan Shotokan Federation. Ranks are inherited within the federation, and proper etiquette, discipline and hard work are treated as part of the curriculum alongside technique. The association has studied and taught the art for more than 30 years, with children’s and adult classes both on the schedule. Students rate it 4.7 across 46 Google reviews. Weekday classes run from mid-afternoon, with Saturday morning training at 909 Spring Creek Pkwy, Suite 350. Reach the school at (469) 222-3754 or planokarateschool.com.
