The School of Smiling Tiger

Don’t let the friendly name fool you: the School of Smiling Tiger teaches Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, a traditional Japanese martial art built on timing, distancing, and angling rather than raw power. The Houston dojo keeps a deliberately simple structure – two programs, Adult Taijutsu and Young Tigers Taijutsu for ages 10 and up – with classes Monday through Thursday evenings at 7731 Southwest Freeway. Youth students aged 10-14 train confidence, focus, and coordination in a structured, respectful environment, while adults work practical self-protection skills through progressive resistance.
