International Hapkiyoosool Federation

Joint locks, sweeps, and circular throws anchor the curriculum at International Hapkiyoosool Federation on Preston Road in Plano, where the Korean art of hapkiyoosool — a close relative of hapkido — is taught under the banner ‘traditional martial art for a modern world.’ Training emphasizes redirecting an attacker’s force rather than meeting strength with strength, an approach that suits students of many sizes and ages pursuing practical self-defense. The federation structure connects local practitioners to a broader organization while keeping classes grounded in fundamentals. Check schedule and membership details by calling 469-888-3748 or browsing hapkiyoosool.com before visiting the Plano dojo.
