Silverback Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Huntsville Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Team
Carlson Gracie’s competition lineage runs through Silverback Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, the Huntsville academy affiliated with the famed Carlson Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Team. Owner and head coach John Pugh earned his purple belt under Professor Jared Chaffee of Carlson Gracie Houston and still competes in the ultra-heavy division, so students learn material their coach actively pressure-tests. The room is built for everyone: the gym identifies as veteran-owned and LGBTQ-friendly, offers family discounts and free parking, and keeps doors open 11 AM to 10 PM every weekday for training around work or school. Seven Google reviews so far, all five stars. Reach the team at 936-439-4332 or through their Gymdesk page to schedule a first session.
