VA Academy Jiu Jitsu | Fitness

Checkmat affiliation meets small-town warmth at VA Academy, the Wylie school founded in January 2019 by Vinicius Agudo. Students train under the Checkmat banner, one of competitive jiu-jitsu’s most recognized team names, while the academy’s own motto stresses family, culture, and discipline above medals. Programs span a structured adult Fundamentals track, kids classes, and 6 AM sessions on Tuesday and Thursday for early risers, with after-school blocks running to 8 PM on weekdays. Wylie has responded with a 4.9 rating across 113 Google reviews, making VA one of Collin County’s best-reviewed grappling rooms. Family discounts and free parking sweeten the deal for multi-student households. Book a free trial through vabjj.com or call 214-501-4437.
